Kingbird Commodities is equipped with a highly experienced trading, operations, administration and finance staff, with a total cumulative experience of more than 100 years.
Norman is Executive Chairman, with 40 years of experience in the commodity markets. He is a former Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President at Cargill International S.A. He also served as a Platform Leader of Cargill for Energy, Ocean, Transport and Global Biofuels, Ethanol/Biodiesel. He has covered every aspect of global origination, trading, risk management and corporate management of all grains, softs, energy, by-products, and processing divisions.
Jamie is the Executive Director, responsible for developing & implementing the groups cross commodity trade and structured finance strategy and oversees trading, origination, structuring and financing of the business. Prior to joining in 2017, he was Head of Structured Trade Finance for Copper & Ferrous products at Gerald Group joining in 2014 through acquisition of RBRG Metalloyd, where he was the Commercial Director working with shareholders and management to run the physical steel and raw materials trading business. Fluent in English, French and Turkish he holds a BSc in International Business & Management from Loughborough University.
Dominic joined Kingbird Commodities in July 2017 as Chief Operating Officer. He joined from BP where he was CFO for LNG, Gas and Power trading and CFO for Oil trading. Prior to that he spent 10 years at Trafigura, formerly managing oil assets for the West African trading books and latterly managing the hedging desk and middle office for physical and derivatives trading in non-ferrous metals and bulk commodities. He holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Management and is a Certified Chartered Accountant.
Michael is a senior trading manager with 40 years experience. He started in tanker chartering before moving on to oil trading. His trading background ranges from refiners such as Motor Oil Hellas in Greece and Sunoco in the USA, to a number of years at Cargill and other major trading houses. He has significant experience trading distillates, base oils, fuel oil, feedstocks & crude.
Tina is head of financing and risk. She has over 17 years of experience in finance. She was most recently Structured Finance Manager for Noble Group, structuring and financing investments in energy, metals and mining globally. Tina also has 9 years’ experience in interest rate trading and investor coverage, most recently as Executive Director for Morgan Stanley, and previously with Citigroup. Tina Holds an MA in PPE from Oxford, an MSc in Finance from London Business School and is a CFA charter holder.
Patricia is head of operations and has over 25 years of experience in the trading industry and worldwide operations. She started her career at Trafigura in Trade Finance, subsequently moved onto physical oil operations and has since operated cargoes globally both at shore and ship-to-ship transfers across every traded barrel.
Chris is a senior structurer with over 17 years of experience as both a lawyer and financier. He started his career at Clifford Chance before moving to Credit Suisse where he was a senior in-house counsel before joining the EM illiquid credit structuring team, and he has significant commercial and origination experience across emerging markets including Russia/CIS, Turkey and Sub-Saharan Africa. He has a law degree from Cambridge University and a history degree from Bristol University.
Triin de Speville
Triin is an operator from an international oil trading company, operating cargoes globally across the barrel from crude oil to LPG. She has focused on Sub Saharan Africa cargo operations and cargo discharges into N America, Europe and Asia. Since joining Kingbird, Triin has successfully operated both bulk and liner food and agriculture products. Prior to this she worked at the European Parliament, for an MEP involved in Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee and the Industry, Research and Energy Committee. Triin is multilingual with a BA from Newcastle University and MA from King’s College London.
Ayse is a member of the Board of Directors with joint responsibility for Financial Operations, including treasury, financial reporting and trade financing. Ayse has a background of over 25 years in corporate banking and private banking. She has an undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and an MBA from American University.
Michelle is a member of the Board of Directors with joint responsibility for Financial Operations, including treasury, financial reporting and trade financing. Michelle has a 17-year background in private banking, alternative assets, and general management in the financial services industry. She has degrees from Georgetown University and Oxford University, as well as an MBA from INSEAD.
Gaspar is senior advisor, beginning his career at Ruder Finn, Global Public Affairs in Washington DC. Subsequently he managed and invested in several companies focused on hard assets globally including emerging markets. More recently, he has been focused on Africa in the financial, energy and infrastructure sectors. He holds a BA (Hons.) in European Studies from University of London´s Queen Mary and Westfield College and an MBA from ESESA in Spain.
Nuno is primarily focused on the execution of investments. He spent most of his career working in asset valuation for the Ministry of Finance, Caixa Geral de Depósitos and other major banks in Portugal. He was the executive director of a consultancy and engineering company. He holds an MEng from University of Porto and an MBA from Universidades Católicas of Portugal, Angola and Brazil.
Alexandre is a business consultant and trader. Prior to that, he was the General Director of Bluoshen Logistics in Angola. In the Netherlands, Alexandre worked as a trader at Nidera, managing relationships with the Angolan Government Institutions. Alexandre holds a BBA from the University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands and a MBA from IMF in Spain.
José Rosa Sande
José is a consultant, mainly in project evaluation and business development. Prior to that he was a project supervisor and lecturer at Lusiada University of Angola. José holds a degree in computing sciences, an international MBA and a MSc in Business Management, with specialty in Financial Markets.
Baptista P. Lutumba
Baptista is a business consultant. Prior to that, he worked at Diageo Group as Area Sales Manager responsible for beverage sales and distribution in Angola. He is fluent in English, Afrikaans and holds International Diplomas in Sales and Marketing from Cambridge College and a Bachelor of Economics from University of International Relations & Economics in Angola.
Since the beginning of her career, Sheila Lopes has focused on the commercial aspects of importation of goods and services to the Angolan market, acquiring most of her experience on the Logistics of Maritime navigation. She holds a Terminals Management course from the University of Montana and a APM Terminals course from Charleston with an on job training program on Teconvi Terminal in Itajai. Further to the above, she has vast experience on the customs operations acquired whilst handling the importation of goods from the various companies she has worked in.
